Roland Lee Reece, 90, of Cedar Rapids, died peacefully Saturday, September 26, 2015 surrounded by family in Cedar Rapids. Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at Echo Hill Presbyterian Church in Marion. A visitation will be held from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. prior to service. Private Family Burial: Walker Cemetery, Walker, IA.

Lee was born October 20, 1924, the son of Henry and Caroline (Putnam) Reece. He graduated from Walker High School, then enlisted in the United States Marines during WWII, serving in the South Pacific. Lee was married to Nora Walker in 1947 and they were married for sixty-eight years. He was a member of Kenwood Park Presbyterian Church, now Echo Hill, and the American Legion Post #298 in Marion. Lee enjoyed fishing, golfing and trips to the casino. He retired from Quaker Oats, now Pepsico, in 1987, after working there for thirty-three years. Lee will be missed by all who knew him and loved him. 

Survivors include his wife, Nora Reece; son, Steven (Jackie) Reece; daughter, Cindy (Jim Brown) Reece; grandchildren, Elisabeth (Chad) Holton, Jeremy (Julie) Reece, Emily (Brian) McNeal, Ann (Tom Randall) Brown; eight great-grandchildren; and sister, Yvonne Warren.  

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Ronnie; sisters, Bernice Paterson, Betty Jean Fishel, Rosalie McAtee, and Crystal Stoner. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Echo Hill Presbyterian Church Building Fund or Camp Courageous in Lee’s memory.
