Earl Frederick Bohlken, 93, of Marion, died Sunday, September 20, 2015 at his home. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, September, 25, 2015 at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at the First Lutheran Church. Rev. Craig Brown will officiate. Interment will follow at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors include his beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Theodora “Dora” Bohlken in 2013, a daughter Joyce and a sister, Iona.
Earl was born August 11, 1922 in Hudson, Wisconsin to Frederick and Jessie Bohlken. He proudly served in the US Army during WWII. Earl married Dora on August 26, 1961 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He enjoyed traveling with his wife Dora and family gatherings. Earl’s greatest passion was flying his private plane. Earl treasured his family, friends and neighbors. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
