Ruth H. Gaede, 77, of Marion, passed away, Monday, October 5, 2015 at Bickford Cottage in Marion.
A visitation celebrating Ruth’s life will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 am Friday, October 9, 2015 at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Memorial service will begin following the visitation at 10:30 in the Chapel of Memories. Inurnment will be in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors include her son, Joel Gaede of Cedar Rapids; brothers, Gerhardt, Harold and Kenneth.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ralph Gaede in 2013; sister, Doris and brothers, Max, Marvin and Paul.
Ruth H. Gaede was born February 2, 1938 in Wausau, Wisconsin, the daughter of Herman and Marie (Arndt) Diemer. She graduated from the Sumner High School in 1956. On September 21, 1958 she married Ralph Gaede at Sumner, IA. Ruth worked as a receptionist and office assistant for Dr. J.E. Whitmire in Sumner, Iowa from 1956 to 1958. She also worked for Pratt AV and Video as a receptionist from 1981 to 1998. Ruth will always be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, sister and friend. She will be greatly missed.
A memorial fund has been established in her name.
