William A. Nodurft, 90, of Cedar Rapids died Saturday November 14, 2015 at Bickford Cottage in Marion. Services at 10:30 AM on Wednesday at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church. Rev. Ritva Williams will officatie. Burial with military rites at the Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 4 to 7 PM on Tuesday and at the Church after 9:30 AM on Wednesday.

Survivors include his daughter Crystal Nodurft of Cedar Rapids and a brother Howard (Joann) of Marion. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, his cat Buddy and his grand dog Sadie. He was preceded in death by his wife Jean, and brothers and sisters; Harold, Robert, Dale, Lawrence, Helen, Marian, Irma, Kenneth and Wayne. 

Bill was born on August 31, 1925 in Strawberry Point the son of William C. and Anna Schmidt Nodurft. He married Emma Jean Nollsch on June 12, 1948 in Evanston, Illinois. Jean passed away in 2003.

Bill worked at Borden’s Ice Cream as a driver and retired from there after more than 27 years of service. Bill was a faithful member of St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church.  He proudly served in the Army during WWII and had the privilege of going on the Honor Flight to Washington DC in 2013.  He did volunteer work for several organizations including his church and the Linn Community Food Bank. 

Bill enjoyed gardening, especially raising tomatoes and baking his renowned cookies. He was a wonderful husband, father, brother, and friend whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
