Donald D. McLane, age 82, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at his residence after a lengthy illness.
A Funeral Mass of the Resurrection will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 23, 2015 at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service at the church.
Donald was born May 19, 1933 in Elkader, Iowa to Kenneth and Jean (Uriell) McLane. He was united in marriage to Rayma Jean Kellogg in Elkader on November 10, 1951. To this union, two daughters were born. Donald was employed at Universal Engineering and a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. He enjoyed golf and wintering in Arizona and Florida.
Donald is survived by his wife of nearly sixty-four years, Rayma Jean, two daughters: Donna (Terry) Donnelly of Madison, Wisconsin and Diane (Patrick) Ryan of West Dundee, Illinois; seven grandchildren; Christopher (Kate) Donnelly, Dylan (Krista) Donnelly, Brittany (Lance) Duroni, Dane Donnelly, Griffin Donnelly, Bryce (Keith) Fallen and Kim (Matt) Matzl and 10 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents. The Family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Murray and Nabi for the great care they gave to Donald.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Donald’s honor may be made to Hospice of Mercy.
