William A. Ranshaw, 87, a resident of Cottage Grove Place died there on Monday March 2, 2015. Services with military rites at 10:00 AM on Friday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Rev. Lloyd Brockmeyer will officiate. Burial at the Oak Hill Cemetery near Tiffin. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 5 to 7 PM on Thursday.

Survivors include a daughter Barbara Phares of St. Peters, Missouri and a son Steven (Jean) of Waxhaw, North Carolina. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Brianna, Katie, Kyle, Tyler, John, Matthew, Sarah, and a daughter-in-law Patricia Ranshaw. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Joanna, a son Craig and a brother Kenneth.

Bill was born on January 14, 1928 in Oxford, the son of George and Bessie Hebl Ranshaw. He married Joanna M. Files on February 4, 1951 in Tiffin. Joanna passed away in 2012. 

Bill worked in the accounting department at Penford and retired from there after more than 20 years of service. After retirement he worked at Highway Construction for several years. 

He was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, the National Association of Accountants, V.F.W., American Legion, the Masons and proudly served in the Army during WWII. Bill enjoyed participating in the Shriner Foot Patrol, woodworking, coin collecting and the time spent with his friends and beloved family. His memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
