Memorial

John William Feldman, age 68, passed away of cancer at his home in Cedar Rapids, on Thursday, March 5, 2015.  Visitation will be 12:30-2:00 pm, Monday at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel, 1221 First Avenue SW, Cedar Rapids.  Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel.  Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Iowa City.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Luke’s Hospice, Cedar Rapids.

John was born July 17th, 1946 to Gertrude Harbit and Wilfred Feldman at West Liberty, Iowa.  He graduated from West Liberty High School in May, 1954.  Working in microwave radio, he served in the US Army 1965 to 1968, in Viet Nam in 1967.  He worked as a Lineman and later as a Central Office Technician for US West, later Quest, from 1970 to 2007.  He married Marilyn Sue Weber January 6, 1972 in Iowa City.  She died September 17, 1985.  Three children were born to that marriage, Annette, Nick and Molly.

John married Fenming Qin in Nanning, China on September 21, 2005.  She was able to join him in the US in 2007.  John enjoyed fishing and hunting and especially his children and grandchildren.  Ming and John were able to travel some and enjoy many events not possible in China.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife Ming, and stepson Ting Gan of Shanghai, China.  His children, Annette Marie, Nicholas Jay and Molly Margot of Cedar Rapids, and grandchildren Conrad Caldwell III and Malaika Harmony Caldwell of Cedar Rapids. Also, siblings Mrs. Patricia Hinz of Moberly, MO, Nancy (Jerome) Kellner, Livermore, IA, James (Willa) Feldman of East Moline, IL, Rita (Dave) Brcka of Waukee, IA and Marie Wheaton of Algona, IA and many nieces and nephews.
