Scina Habhab Deaver, 93 a resident of Bickford Cottage in Marion passed away Friday June 26, 2015. Services at 2:00 PM on Monday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Burial at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 4 to 7 PM on Sunday June 28, 2015.
Survivors include her children Hamode (Judy) Hasson, Karma Hamood Ginalski, David (Judy) Deaver, Dianne (Layne) McDowell, Doug (Jackie) Deaver, and a half-brother Sam Habhab. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband David, two sons, Kenneth Hasson and Dean Deaver, four brothers and four sisters.
Scina was born on April 26, 1922 in Ft. Dodge the daughter of Abbas and Mesada Harp Habhab. She married David A. Deaver Sr. on May 25, 1948 in Cedar Rapids. David passed away in 2013.
Scina was in jewelry sales for many years. She was a member of the Mother Mosque of America and volunteered at the St. Luke’s Gift Shop for over 23 years. Scina was very devoted to her family, taking care of her brothers and sisters and later took great pleasure spending time with her beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed and her memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
Memorial donations may be given to the Mother Mosque of America.
