Rev. Richard (Dick) Bradwell, 72, of Cedar Rapids, died peacefully at Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha on Monday, June 29, 2015 in the loving arms of his wife.
Born on November 5, 1942, he was a naval veteran and licensed practical nurse since 1969. He was also a non-denominational minister since November of 1986. Rev. Bradwell was well traveled, and saw a good part of the world. He was a member of Mt. Herman Masonic Lodge #263, the El Kahir Shrine, and The American Legion Hanford Post #5.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Bradwell, children, Eva (Bryan) Thompson, Laina (Paul) Shuman, Teresa McFarlane, Verlan (Claudia) Klenk, Donetta (Robert) Auen, and Coreena Klenk, plus 18 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 from 4-7pm at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids. An inurnment will take place at a later date in Rock Island, IL.
In lieu of flowers, Richard has requested memorial donations be made to El Kahir Shrine Fund for transportation.
