Memorial
Mabel Ann Hunnicutt, 89, of Cedar Rapids, passed away in her home from a sudden illness, July 15, 2015 surrounded by loved ones. A Memorial gathering will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home on Saturday, August 1, from 4-7 pm.
Mabel was born on December 30, 1925 to Thomas and Florence Price in Limesprings, Iowa. After graduating she attended Coe College, obtaining her teaching degree in 1948. In 1969 Mabel married her husband of 25 years, Mark Hunnicutt, who passed away in 1994. After 43 years of teaching she retired from Harrison Elementary in Cedar Rapids in 1990. Mabel stayed active after retirement being involved in bridge club, playing golf, her Church and The Womens Club.
Mabel is survived by her granddaughter Tabatha Jones (Stenis Strums) and their 3 children; sister Evelyn and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by husband, parents, son, Jeffery Jones; 2 brothers, Edwin and Tudor Price.
