Memorial

Geraldine M. Burian, 82, of Cedar Rapids died on July 12, 2015 at Garnett Place in Cedar Rapids.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening from 4 to 7 PM at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.  Memorial services will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2015 at 10:30 AM at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Marion.  Inurnment will follow at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.

Geraldine M. Burian was born on October 19, 1932 to Thomas and Verna Wilaby Stanbro in Iowa Falls, Iowa.  She was united in marriage to Lumir Burian on October 14, 1950 in Marion, Iowa.  Lumir passed away in 2002.  Geraldine enjoyed singing and spending time with her family.  She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend to many. 

She is survived by her children, LuAnn (Paul) Hoffner of Clarence; David Burian of Cedar Rapids; Verna (Rick Bennett) Burian of Anamosa; and Jeffrey (Chris) Burian of Cedar Rapids; a brother, David Stanbro of Florida; 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, special friend Arnie and many loving nieces, nephews and extended family members. 

Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and 3 sisters, JoAnn Moore, Delores Yeisley and Marlys Maske.
