Willard F. Lynch, 90, of Cedar Rapids passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4 to 7 PM at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00am with a visitation starting at 10:00am at Community of Christ Church 1500 Blairsferry Rd in Hiawatha. Pastors Roger and Sue Reid officiating. Burial will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Willard Faye Lynch was born on January 24, 1924 to Steve and Grace Bowen Lynch in Missouri. He was united in marriage to Beverly Pennington on November 7, 1948 in Cedar Rapids, the couple spent 66 wonderful years together. He enjoyed spending time and fishing at his son and daughter in law’s cabin in Minnesota, playing cards, and was an avid sports fan. He loved being outdoors, gardening, and spending time with his family. Willard will be forever remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grand father and brother.
Survivors include his wife Beverly; children, Linda Stigers of Allentown, PA; Jeannie (Clark) Cogley of Des Moines; Lori Kaplan of Sussex, WI; Scott (Michelle) Lynch of Lakeville MN; a sister, Geneva Ball of Las Vegas; a son-in-law, Gary Baughman of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Bret, Julie MD, Jennifer, Kim, Karie, Steven, Clayton, Jason, Kristi, Karla, Stephanie, Collin, and Troy; and 11 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Dixie Baughman.
