Pansy Louise (Mitchell) Cotton, age 93 passed away on January 20, 2015 at Heritage Nursing and Rehab Center in Cedar Rapids.
Pansy was born April 19, 1921 to Chehoydia and Florence (Cashion) Mitchell in Clarkton, Missouri. On December 14, 1947 she married George Cotton in St. Louis, Missouri. She was a homemaker, practical nurse, and loving mother to her own three daughters and over 400 foster children.
Pansy is survived by her daughters Barbara Williams of Cedar Rapids, Arlinda Cotton of Wisconsin, and Vonda (Majad) Sultan of Clinton Iowa, sister Catherine Thompson of Campbell Missouri and, brother James Mitchell of St Louis Missouri, Grandchildren Mike Nelson, Shawna Blauer, Krstina Elder, Talat Sultan, Sam Cotton, and Brian Wells; 6 Great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her spouse, her sisters Henrietta Coleman, Wanda Hicks, Nellie Hinman, Dorothy Babb, Neoma and Patsy Mitchell, her brothers Paul Mitchell, David Mitchell and Robert Mitchell.
Services will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories at 3p.m. on Saturday, January 24, with a visitation an hour prior to the service. Burial will be at a later date.
