A visitation will be held on Friday January 30, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 4-7 p.m. Entombment: Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.

Marjorie Kathryne Stoll Bowers was born a few minutes on December 17, 1927, just ahead of her twin sister, Marion in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa.  Marion died on April 20, 2014. They both took great pride in telling the story that they were twins with different birth dates. Their parents were Raymond and Eva Turley Stoll who preceded them in death.

One of her first jobs she worked was at Turner Microphone and a rubber ball/paddle factory. She enjoyed telling the story about putting the string into the ball and painting them red. Marjorie volunteered at St. Luke’s Hospital over 32 years delivering flowers to the patients. She loved to knit and crochet. Over the years she has given a lot of babies their first hand made blankets.

Marjorie married Charles F. Bowers on October 18, 1947 by the Justice of the Peace in Cedar Rapids. Charles passed away on August 17, 1998. Also deceased are her 7 siblings; Maxine (Glenn) Irvin, Esther (Floyd) Peterson, Arlene (Richard) Shields, Marion (Robert) Umbdenstock, Norman “Bud” (Peg) Stoll and Raymond “Jr.” (Linda) Stoll, and her sisters-in-law; Betty E. Bowers and Thea Bowers Gorman.

She is survived by 2 children; Mike (Betty) Bowers of Central City, Iowa, and Diane Tyne of Cedar Rapids, former son in law, Don Tyne of Cedar Rapids, Iowa,  grandchildren; Jenifer (Mike) Hall, Sarah (Derek) Wheeler, Jody Bowers (Brent Fountain), Dan Tyne, Bill (Danielle) Tyne; 8 great grandchildren, Michael, John, Sam Hall, Jordan and Creighton Wheeler, Amaya Tyne and Aiden Greene and Skyler Tyne, and a brother-in-law, Robert Hamer of Texas and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to St. Luke’s Hospice.
