Richard O. Clark, 77, of Cedar Rapids passed away on Thursday February 19, 2015 at St. Luke’s Hospital. Services at 11:00 AM on Tuesday at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church. Entombment with military rites at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 4 to 7 PM on Monday.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara; sons, Mark (Carrie), Bradley (Susan), 5 grandchildren, Heather, Britt, Jenna, Grant and Sydney; and 3 great grandchildren, Avalyn, Adley, and Lilyth. Richard is also survived by his brother Hugh Clark Jr. (Bernice) of Plano, Texas, sister-in-law Mary Ann Clark of Omaha, Nebraska, and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Richard was born on July 9, 1937 in Omaha, Nebraska, the third and youngest son of Hugh Clark Sr. and Janie (Shaw) Clark. He graduated from the University of Omaha in 1959 with a degree in Business Administration. On October 9, 1965 he married the love of his life, Barbara Ann Radley in Marshalltown. Richard began his career with Rockwell-Collins in 1966 and retired in 2002 after 35 years of service. Richard and Barbara have called Cedar Rapids home since 1966. 

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Jack Clark, his maternal grandmother, Terah Mae Shaw and in-laws L. Ray and Beatrice Radley. 

Richard leaves a legacy of dedication, loyalty, hard work, love and generosity to his family, friends, and colleagues. He was a faithful man who ensured that those he touched were cared for and loved and was always unselfish with his talents and gifts. 

In lieu of flowers, a memorial may be directed to St. Paul’s United Methodist Church or St. Luke’s Hospital Hospice Care Unit.
