Edna Jean Wallace age 85 Died Saturday February 28, 2015 at St. Luke’s Hospital surrounded by her family.

Service will be 10:00am Thursday March 5, 2015 at Zion Lutheran Church in Hiawatha, Iowa. with a visitation one hour prior. Rev. Daniel Krueger will officiate at the service. Visitation will be 4 to 7 pm Wednesday March 4, 2015 at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. 

Surviving is her husband Charles; 5 children Bobbie (Mark) Daugherty, Russell (Leonna) Wallace of Mulvane, KS, Kim (Robert) Hernandez, Susan (Chris) Gentz of Wisconsin and Michael (Gerry) Wallace of Martelle, IA. 22 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren; 2 sister-in-laws. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, 3 sisters and a grandson.

Edna was born October 10, 1929 in Scranton, Iowa. She was the Daughter of Richard and Breta Shivers Pennington. She was a graduate of Mercy School of Nursing in 1949.  Edna and Charles Wallace were united in marriage July 17, 1951 in Shreveport Louisiana. Edna was a nurse at St Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids for many years before retiring in 1993. 

Edna was a loving wife, mother grandmother, great-grandmother and friend and will be missed dearly by those closest to her. 

The family would like to send a special thank you to Beth, Angie, Pam and the Staff at St. Luke’s Hospice.  And to her daughters Bobbie and Kim for their loving care these last few weeks.
