Barb was born March 1, 1930 in Cedar Rapids. She graduated from Franklin High School in 1947. She was a “married/working mom” before it was the norm, balancing her career and home life with her two growing children, Jeff and Jill. Aunt Linnie and grandma Fran were always there for the childhood “sick” days. She was a Mother who was determined to give her children and grandchildren the advantages she did not have while growing up. She instilled the value of education and an independent spirit achieved through knowledge.

She joined the business world as a “Secretary”  in 1959 working for several local organizations and retired at age 78, after working 34 years for Von L. Elbert at Sta-Fed Tax, TLS, Co, Galt Sand and Camden Inc.

Her greatest enjoyment was being a mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Family always came first!
