Cathy Ann Smith, 47, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday August 8, 2015 at Oldorf Hospice House in Hiawatha. A visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday August 11, 2015 at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home.
Survivors include her husband, Doug Smith of Cedar Rapids; two children, Brandon (Sarah) Smith of Camanche, Catrina Smith of Cedar Rapids; two granddaughters, Rylan and Emma Smith; brother, Kevin (Susan) Thompson of Texas; two sisters, Linda (Anthony) Mancina of Cedar Rapids, Beth (Daniel) Parmer of Anamosa; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Barbara Thompson; and twin brother, Chris Thompson.
Cathy was born June 26, 1968, the daughter of Harold and Barbara (Gerhold) Thompson in Cedar Rapids. She attended Hamilton Business College, where she earned her AA. On August 29, 1992, Cathy married Doug Smith. She greatly enjoyed bird watching and fishing. Cathy was also a big fan of Harley-Davidson.
