Wanda Elaine Valley, 89, of Brandon, Iowa, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, April 18, 2015 at St. Luke’s Hospital after a lengthy illness.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories officiated by Certified Staff Celebrant Julie Freese.  Interment will take place at the Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Monday evening at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.

Wanda was born January 9, 1926 in Mantorville, Minnesota to Everett and Eva (Eckhardt) Lloyd.  After graduating from Muscatine High School, she was united in marriage to Robert O. Valley on May 14, 1946 in Muscatine, Iowa.

Wanda worked in food service for the Cedar Rapids Community Schools while her children were in school.  She was a round dance teacher with her husband Robert for thirty-five years and was an avid square dancer.  She was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, and the Twirlin’ Travelers Camping Club.

She is survived by her husband of nearly sixty-nine years, Robert of Brandon, Iowa; three sons: Douglas (Deanna) of Stillwater, Oklahoma; Gregory (Janice) of Jasper, Georgia; and Thomas (Julie) of Brandon, Iowa; eleven grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters Lettie Bellinger, Laura Ferencik, Florence Hoskins, and Iris Williams; and one brother, Milo Lloyd.
