Iona Ruth Langguth, 95, formerly of Palo, died peacefully Friday, April 10, 2015 in Cedar Rapids. Services: 10:30 Friday, 17 April, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 7 pm Thursday, 16 April, at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home.  
 
Iona is survived by her daughter-in-law Joan Langguth; four grandchildren, Mick (Charlie) Langguth of Tiffin, IA, Amy (Dennis) Hobson of Bellevue, NE, Mike Langguth of Indianapolis, and Mark (Jennifer) Langguth of Marengo, IL, 11 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
 
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray E. Langguth; her son Jack R. Langguth; four brothers, Lester, Marvin, Henry, and Francis; and two sisters, Martha and Ruby.
 
Iona was born 10 July, 1919 the daughter of James and Cora Burt. She married Ray Langguth on 16 June, 1936. She was an avid gardener, loved to cook for her family, and enjoyed fishing with family and friends on the Mississippi River at their cabin in Clayton, IA. Iona took great pride in her family and was always ready to help them when needed.
