Carol Lea Albrecht went home to meet her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday April 9, 2015, at the age of 69 after a short illness. Services: 1:00 p.m. Monday at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. A visitation will be held on Sunday from 2-5 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Inurnment will be at a later date.
Carol was born November 6, 1945 in Stockton, California, daughter of Roy Leeper and Mary (Dennis) Muncus. She graduated from Solon High School and was a retired LPN Nurse. She worked at Friendship Village in Waterloo, UI Hospitals & Clinics, Methwick Cedar Rapids, and the VA Hospital. She married Gary Albrecht on April 4, 1964 at the First Presbyterian Church Iowa City, IA. Together they had 4 children.
Carols hobbies included her love of football. The Vikings were her favorite team. She loved spending time with family, friends, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had a passion for genealogy & crocheting.
She is survived by her husband Gary of Mount Vernon, Iowa; Sons, Bret (Kris) Albrecht of Oxford, Iowa and Bart Albrecht (Julie Morrow) Of Waterloo, Iowa; Daughters, Renee (Rodney) Hoeppner of Marion, Iowa and Dawn Albrecht of Mount Vernon, Iowa; a brother, Roy Leeper; a sister, Dana Wellington; 10 grandchildren, Trevor (Theresa) Hoeppner, Nicole Villhauer, Gerrit Hoeppner (Carly Ross), Brandi Bahr, Devon Albrecht, Krystal Wade, Preston Hoeppner (Carly Dale); Elizabeth Wade, Ryan Morrow, Brenner Morrow-Duetsch; 6 great grandchildren; Alexis Hoeppner, Kendal Hoeppner, Brynn Hoeppner, Rylee Hoeppner, Sophia Bahr & Raylan Hoeppner; and Carol was expecting 3 more great grandchildren; Braxton Hoeppner; Stella Hoeppner and Baby Morrow. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Judy.
