Memorial

Lois Walker, 76, of Cedar Rapids rejoined the Lord on Saturday, September 20th, at the Hiawatha Care Center.

The family requests that memorials be made to Unity Point Hospice, 290 Blairs Ferry Road, Cedar Rapids, IA, 52402.

Lois was born July 18, 1938, in Cedar Rapids, IA, the daughter of Ray and Velda Glime.  She married Robert C. Walker on January 21, 1956, was a devoted member of Salem United Methodist and strong in her faith throughout her life.  Lois dedicated her life to raising her children, and doting on her grandchildren.  She was a cherished friend for those who had the pleasure to know her, and was passionate about the well-being of her family.  Lois was preceded in death by Robert Walker, her parents, and her sister, Joan Hill. 

Surviving Lois are her children:  Bob Walker and his wife Joyce of Mason City, IA, Robin Walker of North English, Laurel Lair and her husband Kevin of Waxhaw, NC, and Jay Walker of Cedar Rapids; and her grandchildren Wendy and Justin Hoss, Brett and Jarryd Walker, Alex, Max, and Sam Lair, and Nyle Walker.

The family would like to thank the hospice workers for their compassion in making Lois’ last days as comfortable as possible. 

In life, sometimes words cannot properly express emotions:  Thank you, Mom, for all that you did for us.  You will be deeply missed.
