John E. Andersen. 69, of Hiawatha died unexpectantly on Monday September 29, 2014 at St. Luke’s Hospital.  Memorial services will be held on Monday, October 13 at 10:00 AM at the Church Of The King. Rev. Donald L Glazier will officiate. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include his wife Sandy; three sons Todd of Cedar Rapids, Troy (Ranae) of Hiawatha, and Tyler (Becky) of Clarksville, Tennessee; three daughters Lisa (Zachary) Fox, of Cedar Rapids, Tiffany (Alex) Campbell of Savanah, Georgia, Lynn Michaelc of Cedar Rapids; and a sister Doris Christensen of Audubon. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Esther Rutherford.

John was born on March 18, 1945 in Audubon County the son of Ed K. and Dorothy Lacy Andersen. He married Sandra L. Bosch on February 27, 1965 in Linton, North Dakota. John was an engineer and retired from Rockwell-Collins after more than 30 years of service.

He was a faithful member of Church Of The King where he was an Elder as well as being a member of American Legion Post No. 735 in Hiawatha. He also served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War.

John enjoyed touring the United States with Sandy in their RV., fishing at the boundary waters, woodworking, and especially the time spent with his beloved family and friends. His memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him. He was a Christian man who loved the Lord Jesus Christ above all.
