Floyd was born April 25, 1931 in Lisbon, Iowa, the son of Lawrence and Ehrmal (Miller) Gouchee.  He married Sue A. Green on July 25, 1964 in Cedar Rapids.  He was a master carpenter  and worked for St. Luke’s, in the carpenter shop for over 25 years. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Carpenters Union # 308 and served in the Army during the Korean War. He loved summer, enjoying the sunshine, gardening and spending time with his grandchildren. As a grandfather you were not only my grandpa, but my role model, my best friend, and the one person who could always put a smile on my face. This all happened way too fast and I never thought I’d ever lose you, these past few days have been so surreal as I’ve sat with you in the living room and held your hand. You fought this battle and gave everything you had. Some of the times we had together will be remembered by me forever. The impact you had on not only me but others you met was incredible. I’ll never forget about that huge smile of yours that would brighten a dark room and your scruffy beard when I got a hug goodbye. I love you more than anything and I know you are finally at peace and no longer in pain. Again I love you grandpa Chic and you will never be forgotten.
