Robert Allison age 84 died Thursday October 16, 2014 at the West Ridge Care Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
 
Funeral service will be 3:00pm on Monday October 20, 2014 at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Rev. Claire Leonard will officiate at the service. Friends may call from 4 to 7 on Sunday October 19, 2014 at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Burial will be at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Military Honors will follow the committal service at the cemetery. Please feel free to wear Hawkeye black and gold to the service in honor of Robert.
 
Surviving are his wife Erma; children Tod Allison of Cedar Rapids, Don (Yue-Cui) Allison of Hastings, MN, Bob (Pam) Allison of Hiawatha, Tom Allison of Lone Tree, Debra Allison of Cedar Rapids and Joe (Shelley) Allison of Lone Tree; 12 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; a brother E.J. (Marg) Allison of Olathe, KS and a sister Peggy (Earl) Weatherston of Layton, UT; He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister Earlene.
 
Robert was born January 8, 1930 in Neosho, Missouri. He was the son of Ellis and Florence Morgan Allison. Robert served his country in the United States Marine Corp during the Korea Conflict. Robert later received his Bachelor’s degree from Kansas Wesleyan and then his masters from the University of Northern Colorado. On June 29, 1958 Robert and Erma Foster were united in marriage in Norton, Kansas. Robert worked for the Cedar Rapids Schools as a Physical Education teacher. 
 
Robert was a member of the Hiawatha American Legion, Lifetime member of NEA, past member of El-Kahir Shrine, and a life scout.  He was an assistant scout leader for Troop 33. He was an avid Hawkeye fan, enjoyed  scuba diving, skiing, roller skating, golf and doing family Genealogy, as well as coaching his children in all their sports, but the thing he treasured most was the time he was given to spend with his family and friends. 
 
In Lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Patriot Guard or Linn County Veteran Affairs Food Pantry.
