Gladys was born April 29, 1923 in Chicago, IL the daughter of Arvid G. and Agnes (Eliason) Lindberg.  Prior to her marriage, she worked at the Continental Bank in downtown Chicago.  She was united in marriage to Richard F. Millen on February 15, 1945 in Chicago.  She moved to Cedar Rapids with her family in 1963.  After seeing her boys off to college, she returned to work, holding jobs at Penick & Ford, Iowa Electric, and Lawrence Press, all in Cedar Rapids.  She was a member of First Lutheran Church and for many years helped the First Lutheran Comfort Makers prepare and send off hundreds of quilts to family shelters and children’s homes in Iowa, and to overseas missions.  As a mother, she nurtured her boys with all the love and care that one could imagine, and we all loved her for it.
