Elaine Armstrong age 89 died Friday October 17, 2014 in Marion

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00pm on Wednesday October 22, 2014 at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Visitation will be 5 to 7 on Tuesday October 21, 2014 at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. 

Surviving are 5 nephews Gene, Gary, Steve and Scott Armstrong and Rick Poe; 4 Nieces Pat Bailey, Gertrude Bader, Sandy McDonald and Susie Hurms; She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Marion in 2011. 

Elaine was born May 20, 1925 in rural Springville, Iowa. She was the daughter of Fred and Nell Frasinger Leaf.  Elaine worked for 41 years at Iowa Electric and Power as the Accounting office manager. On October 10, 1943 Elaine and Marion Armstrong were united in marriage in Springville, Iowa the couple were married for 63 years before Marion passed away.  

She was a member of the Eastern Star for over 50 years and past Matron, the Quota Club, she was very active at her Kenwood Presbyterian in Cedar Rapids church, she was an elder and bookkeeper for the church which is now Echo Hill Presbyterian. She loved golfing, bus trips to Chicago to shop and shopping in general, playing Bridge and Traveling with Marion. She was a loving daughter, wife aunt and cousin and will be missed dearly by those closest to her.
