Constance Rose Bredl Runde, 81 of Cedar Rapids died Tuesday October 14, 2014. Funeral Mass: 10 AM on Monday at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Rev. Mark Ressler will officiate. Burial at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 2 to 5 PM on Sunday where there will be a vigil service at 2 PM. There will also be a visitation at the Church after 9:00 AM on Monday.

Survivors include two sons Dr. Stephen (Rachel) of Marion and Dr. Jeffrey of Crater Lake, Oregon; two daughters Renee’ Runde of Jacksonville, Florida, Melissa (Rick) Symonds of Gill, Colorado and her brother John (Molly) Bredl of Cedar Rapids. She is also survived by the “Loves of her Life” her grandchildren, Daniel, Kathleen Rose, Joseph, John, Lauren, and Jordan Renee’ Runde, Elise Runde Voss, Adam, Nicole and Kyle Symonds; great grandchildren Douglas, R.J., and Addalye Rose, Rylee, Asher and Jane Helen. She was proud to welcome into her life- Madison and Derrick Voss and Kylie Trittle, “Her Grandchildren in Love”; great cousins including Carolyn (Jerry) Gosse, Tom Mach, whom she shared her childhood home and two former daughters-in-law Ruth Runde and Jill (Tom) Voss. Connie was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a son Loren who died on September 28, 1986. 

Constance was born to M. Theresa Forrestal Bredl and John F. Bredl on February 25, 1933. She graduated from Immaculate Conception High School in 1951. She married her high School Sweetheart, Merle I. Runde on November 17, 1952. Merle died on October 12, 1997.  She was a homemaker and together they proudly raised 5 children. 

Connie had a wonderful and joyful extended family and great friends with whom she shared holidays, birth days, and lots of parties. She enjoyed playing bridge, travels, luncheons, Iowa games and golf. She volunteered many hours at the Hall-Perrine Cancer Center and Mercy Hospice House.
