Violet P. Aldrich 93, of the Village Place in Marion died there on Friday November 14, 2014 after a short illness. Services at 11:00 AM on Monday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Burial at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 2 to 4 PM on Sunday.

Survivors include two sons, Dennis (Janie) Manley of Shellsburg and Kenneth (Paula) Manley of Kalamazoo, Michigan. She is also survived by three grandchildren Mark and Amy Manley, Michelle VonSprecken and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her three husband, a grandson Michael, one brother and five sisters.

Violet was born on August 9, 1921 in Mercer County, Illinois the daughter of Edward and Julia Petersen Bonynge. She graduated from high school in Aledo, Illinois and later from Coe College. She married Kenneth Walkup in Davenport in1946. Ken passed away in 1951. She later married Harry Manley in Illinois in 1953. Harry passed away in 1971. She then married Elmer L. Aldrich in Marion in 1973. Elmer passed away in 1998.

Violet taught elementary school for over 32 years in Davenport and later in Marion, retiring in 1973.

She was a member of the Marion United Methodist Church, enjoyed travel and collecting antiques.

Violet was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
