Memorial
Noreen E. Waters Cameron, 96, passed away peacefully November 18, 2014 in the home she shared with her daughter and son-in-law, Kacy and Quinn Novak.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, November 22, 2014 at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 4:00 until 6:00 PM Friday at the funeral home. Private family entombment will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Noreen was born March 14, 1918 in Wentworth, South Dakota to Wardell W. and Clara Emily (Kukuk) Waters. She graduated with a degree in education from Eastern South Dakota State Normal School in 1938. She was attending South Dakota State College when she met and married Kenneth W. Cameron on July 29, 1939 in Omaha, Nebraska. In order to teach in Cedar Rapids, she went back to school and graduated from Coe College in 1962. She and Ken both taught and retired from the Cedar Rapids School System.
Noreen leaves her daughters Karnese “Kacy” (Quinn) Novak of Cedar Rapids and Paula Cameron of Central City; a sister-in-law Macel Cameron of Chamberlain, South Dakota; many nieces and nephews; and her special cousin Pat Eggert.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ken and her parents.
Noreen was a loving wife and mother. She had a spontaneous sense of humor and loved to tease. She will be missed.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial in Noreen’s name has been established.
