Memorial
Lawrence W. Miller Sr., 85 of Cedar Rapids died Wednesday November 12, 2014 at his home. Memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Rev. Joel DeSousa will officiate. Private family inurnment at Linwood Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his partner in life Evelyn Weaver, one daughter Peggy (George) Zeman of Denver, Colorado, two sons Lawrence Jr of Cedar Rapids and Jim “Drew” (Vicki) of Denver, Colorado. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Bonnie.
Lawrence was born on December 18, 1928 in Cedar Rapids the son of Wesley and Anna Blazek Miller. He married Bonnie Fields on January 23, 1954 in Cedar Rapids. Bonnie passed away in 1987.
Lawrence farmed, owned a service station, and worked in the Cedar Rapids area most of his life.
He was a member of the American Legion and proudly served in the Army during the Korean War. He enjoyed all types of racing and especially the time spent with his friends and beloved family. His memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
