Memorial
Clinton “CJ” Moffitt, passed away suddenly from cardiac complications while hunting on Saturday, November 15, 2014. The family will have a visitation on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories Thursday, November 20, 2014 at 3:00 p.m.
CJ is survived by his wife, Cyndie of 40 years, his daughters Jamie Stevenson (Ryan) and Jodi Moffitt (Brian), his grandchildren Sophia, Ethan, Faith, Morgan, Madeline and his Mother In-law Betty Steenhoek. He was preceded in death by his parents Francis and Violette Barkley and Father In-law Richard Steenhoek.
He was born to Marvin and Loraine Fountain Moffitt on August 3, 1955. He was raised in Grinnell, Iowa. He received a football scholarship to Marshalltown Community College where he met Cyndie. They married in Cedar Rapids on September 28, 1974 where they have resided since. CJ worked 39 years at Cargill.
He enjoyed attending all of his daughters and grandchildren’s activities. He enjoyed carving in his free time and went hunting every chance he got.
He will always be remembered as a kind hearted man with an easy smile and an infectious laugh.
