Carl Duggan, 71, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday November 7, 2014 in his home surrounded by his loving family. Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at St. Ludmila’s Catholic Church. Visitation will be Monday, November 10, 2014 from 4-7 p.m. at the Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel. Burial will be held at St. John’s Cemetery.
Survivors include his loving wife, Sherry Duggan; 4 children, Debbie (Lionel) Miller, Rick Klein, JoEllen (Stanley) Kaiser, Jessica (Scott) Muters, all of Cedar Rapids; 11 grandchildren, Erik, Brooke, Josh, Scott, Brandon, Nicole, Megan, George, Christian, Mia, Maxten; 9 great grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, infant sons Jeffery and Douglas; 1 brother; 2 sisters; grandchild, Isabella and great grandchild, Leasiah.
Carl Duggan was born January 10, 1943 in Dubuque, Iowa, the son of Harold and Letha (Lyons) Duggan. He married Sherry Langfitt on March 19, 1965 in Quincy, Illinois. Carl was employed at Iowa Man Manufacturing as a welder and proudly retired in 2008. Carl was known for telling great stories and opening his home up to foster children. In his spare time he enjoyed gardening, building and creating things, but he especially enjoyed the time with his family. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
