LaVonne E. Hudson, 86, of Cedar Rapids died Friday June 27, 2014 at the Hiawatha Care Center after a short illness. Services at 11:00 AM on Wednesday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Inurnment at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 5 to 7 PM on Tuesday.
Survivors include a daughter Linda Schultz of Hiawatha; two sons, Lynn (Cindy) of Cedar Rapids and Loni (Anneliese) of Hiawatha; and one brother Verle (Janice) Miller of Cedar Rapids. She is also survived by four grandchildren Angela Naylor of Harrogate, U.K., Victoria Campbell of Lapeer, Michigan, Amanda and David Hudson; and two great great grandchildren Madelyn and Lindsay. She was preceded in death by her husband.
LaVonne was born on April 21, 1928 in Cedar Rapids the daughter of Samuel and Gladys Phelps Miller. She married Robert D. Hudson on November 21, 1948 in Marion. Bob passed away in 2008. LaVonne worked in customer service at Sears and retired from there after more than 30 years of service.
She enjoyed travel, antiques, going to the casino, her cats and especially spending time with her beloved family. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
