Robert Foster, 71, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday July 19, 2014 in Lady of Peace Hospice House in St. Paul, Minnesota. Services: 11:00 a.m. Saturday July 26, 2014 at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories by Deacon Phil Saunders. Burial: Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Friday from 4-7 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife, Ebony Foster, his children; Laura Maharry of Des Moines, Iowa, Paul Foster of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Essence Jones of St. Paul, Minnesota, a brother, Dennis Foster of Bellingham, Washington, a sister, Martha Caristi of Valparaiso, Indiana. Also surviving are a host of grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Robert was born March 25, 1943 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Robert and Mary (Byrne) Foster. He married Ebony Jones on March 13, 2010 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Robert was employed with F.M.C as a machinist. He also worked for Goss in Cedar Rapids. He is a graduate of Regis Catholic High School. Robert enjoyed woodworking, collecting automobiles, his favorite being Jaguars and collecting coins. Robert was also a handy man. He could fix anything. Robert was also operator of an Ice cream shop in Cedar Rapids. He was owner of the Essence Boutique.
