Merle (MJ) Meyers age 91 died Monday July 7, 2014 at the Dennis and Donna Hospice house in Hiawatha.
Private family services will be at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories at a later date. Certified Celebrant Jim Parton will officiate at the service. Entombment will be at the Cedar Memorial Mausoleum at a later date.
Surviving is his son Butch (Jeanne) of Central City; 3 grandchildren Jason (Jill), Chad and T.J.; 2 great-grandchildren Jayden and Chloe, extended family Steve and Karen Weigant and Linda Meyer; his extended family in Brainerd, Minnesota Greg & Sissy Praska and their children Henry, Charlie and Bruce; he was preceded in death by his parents; a sister Gretchen and brother Raymond;
Merle was born April 17, 1923 in Mingo, Iowa. He was the son of Sam and Myrtle Meyers. Merle worked as a salesman for his entire life. He was a member of the American Legion and VFW in Brainerd, Minnesota.
