Memorial
Joseph V. Di Nucci Jr. passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 24, 2014 at St. Luke’s Hospital. A Memorial Service will be held at First Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 28, 2014. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until beginning of the Memorial Service.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents and a sister. He is survived by his wife Marian and four children: Kim (Brian) Bartuch, Kurt (Natalya), Kent (Kari), Kris (Gamze) and ten grandchildren.
Joe was born in Boston, MA, on July 10, 1938 to Joseph and Helen Di Nucci. He graduated from Norwich University in Northfield, Vermont. He served with the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged as a Captain. His entire business career was spent in the securities business in Cedar Rapids, most recently with Wells Fargo Advisors.
Joe enjoyed playing golf with his family and friends, playing bridge, and was an avid Iowa Hawkeye and Boston Red Sox fan. He was overjoyed when his beloved Red Sox finally beat the curse and won a World Series. He especially enjoyed playing golf with his grandchildren.
Joe enjoyed serving on the Board of Directors of Four Oaks as well as the Greater Cedar Rapids Open Golf Tournament.
He enjoyed going to work every day because he loved his work and serving his clients.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Lutheran Church or Four Oaks.
His body has been cremated and inurnment will take place at a later date.
