Darlene Blanche Janko Dean, 80, of Marion, died Wednesday, July 23, 2014.
A funeral service celebrating Darlene’s life will be held at 11:00 am Monday, July 28, 2014 at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Gary Warner will officiate. Private burial will be in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 10-11 am Monday at the funeral home.
Survivors include her husband, Donald Jr. of Marion; sister, Betty Axline of Springville; sister-in-law, Jessel Dean of Marion; also surviving are many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son Donnie in 2006, and sister, Patricia Kriegel.
Darlene Blanche Janko was born November 1, 1933 in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Joseph and Blanche (Volesky) Janko. She graduated from the Marion High School in 1953. On December 31, 1953 she married Donald A. Dean Jr. in Marion, Iowa. Darlene had worked at Rockwell-Collins for 42 years. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, traveling and dining out with Junior. She will be missed by all who loved and knew her.
