Memorial
Robert L. Strauch, 57, of Hiawatha died at his home on Friday December 26, 2014 after a sudden illness. A visitation will be held at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 5 to 8 PM on Tuesday.
Survivors include his wife, Cynthia, three daughters, Alison (Travis) Mollenhauer, Stephanie and Lauren Strauch all of Cedar Rapids; his mother Dolores (Al) Opatz of Lisbon; and two brothers Steve Strauch of Mechanicsville and Bill (Sandy) Lighthall of Lisbon. He is also survived by four grandchildren Riley, Brooklyn, Ava, Kora and his six dogs. He was preceded in death by his father.
Bob was born on December 29, 1956 in Mt. Vernon the son of Eugene and Dolores Mead Strauch. He married Cynthia J. Kottman on September 15, 1979 in Mt. Vernon.
Bob was a computer technician at C.R.S.T for over 5 years. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, working on computers, listening to classic rock and especially the time spent with his many friends and beloved family .Bob was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him. A memorial fund has been established in Bob’s name.
