Rosemary K. McAleer, 85, a resident of the West Ridge Care Center died there on Thursday August 21, 2014 after a long illness. Funeral Mass: 10:00 AM on Monday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Rev. Christopher Podhajsky will officiate. Burial at Calvary Cemetery south of Ryan. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 2 to 5 PM on Sunday where there will be a rosary recited at 2:00 PM. There will also be a visitation at 9:00 AM on Monday at the Church.

Survivors include her husband Robert, her children; Timothy (Mary) of Ft. Worth, Texas, Marjorie (Gene) Malloy of Lisle, Illinois, Susan (Craig) Metzger of Phoenix, Arizona, James (Diann) of Cedar Rapids, Richard of Naperville, Illinois, Catherine (Robert) Digney of Cleveland, Ohio, Annette (Michael) Petersen of Papillion, Nebraska, and Thomas of San Francisco, California. She is also survived by 24 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Father William Devine, Bernard Devine, a daughter Mary Rita and a grandson Michael Petersen Jr.

Rosemary was born on March 6, 1929 in Ryan the daughter of William and Amelia Kirschbaum Devine. She graduated from St. Patrick’s Catholic High School in Ryan in 1946 and was united in marriage to Robert J. McAleer on November 20, 1948 in Ryan.

Rosemary was a faithful member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and was a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, cross stitching, playing cards, dancing, reading and especially the time spent with her friends and beloved family.
