.Mark J. Bartelme, age 50, of Melbourne Beach, Florida, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died August 24, 2014.
A celebration of Mark’s life will take place at 10:30 AM Saturday, August 30, 2014 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. Visitation will be held from 4:00 until 7:00 PM Friday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories.
He is survived by spouse Laura Bartelme of Cedar Rapids; children Jackson, Jenna, and Jaimie Bartelme, all of Cedar Rapids; step-sons Justin and Joel Bergen, of Cedar Rapids; special friend Lisa Jacobs of Melbourne Beach, Florida; former spouse Megan Turner-Ginsberg of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; brothers Michael Bartelme, Jr. (Dalaine) of Fort Collins, Colorado and Jeff Bartelme of Iowa City; mother Lois Bartelme (Norm Hansmeyer) of Coralville; special aunt Jane Bartelme of Grand Lake, Minnesota; many special aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins; and three cats: Echo, Ollie, and Bross.
Mark was preceded in death by his father Michael James Bartelme, Sr. in 1987, and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Mark John Bartelme was born August 5, 1964 in West Palm Beach, Florida to Michael J. and Lois A. (Ruggles) Bartelme, Sr. He was employed by Rockwell Collins as a Technical Project Manager.
Mark enjoyed boating, water skiing, wakeboarding, golfing, and spending time outdoors. He enjoyed fixing up old cars. He loved computers and technology. He loved watching movies, reading, and truly enjoyed life to the utmost. He especially enjoyed yearly family vacations to Grand Lake, Minnesota where he treasured time spent with his children and all of his extended family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mark’s name may be directed to the American Heart Association or the charity of your choice.
