Memorial
Kim D. Darrow, 60, of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, August 3, 2014 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4-7pm and a Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday at 11am, both at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Burial Service will immediately follow at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Carol, his step-children Logan and Hannah Ekstrand, his two sisters; Leigh (Wayne) Parkin of Tuscon, Arizona, Ann Poe of Cedar Rapids and several special nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Ann Darrow and his sister Diane Darrow. His grandparents Frank and Lucy Fieseler and Newell and Daisey Darrow.
Kim was born July, 28 1954 in Cedar Rapids, IA. He married Carol Ekstrand on July 6, 2014. Kim was project manager for Woodcrafters, Inc. He loved woodworking, mountain biking and traveling. His love for the water and growing up on the Cedar River were endless. He also enjoyed family trips to Lake Kabetogama. Kim was a kind and gentle soul who will be greatly missed by his friends and family.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt Thank You to the surgeons, doctors and nurses of the University of Iowa Hospital CVICU team for all the kind and respectful care they gave to Kim and his family.
