Jacqueline "Jackie" Heins passed away peacefully on Friday, August 29, 2014.  She was born September 30, 1928, the daughter of Roy and Neva Engelbert of Williamsburg, Iowa.  A member of The Greatest Generation, she served the country that she loved by playing taps on her trumpet for the small town boys who made the ultimate sacrifice in WWII.

Jackie graduated from Williamsburg High School in 1946 and the University of Iowa in 1950 with a degree in Economics.   She was a loyal member of Alpha Chi Omega and strongly supported her chapter.

In 1962 Jackie married the love of her life, Jack.  Together they raised a family and traveled the world. Always a loyal Hawkeye, an avid golfer and phenomenal homemaker, life was always more fun when Jackie was around, especially if she planned the party.

She is survived by her husband, Jack of Cedar Rapids; her son Charlie and and his wife Kissy Heins of Marion, Iowa; Ann Heins of Washington, D.C.; grandchildren, Jennifer of Washington D.C.; Char of Denver, Colorado.

A celebration of life will be held at The First Congregational Church in Cedar Rapids on Friday September 5 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in her memory  to The First Congregational Church.  Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
