Edward Charles Martin, 83, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Saturday, August 16, 2014 at the Hiawatha Care Center.

A memorial service celebrating Ed’s life will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, August 21, 2014 at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories with Rev. Dave Higdon officiating. Inurnment will be in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-7 pm Wednesday at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.

Survivors include his sister, Betty Goldsberry of Cedar Rapids; sister-in-law, Bev Martin of Central City; nephews, Terry (Marcia) Martin of Des Moines, Larry Martin of Hiawatha, Daniel (Pam) of Central City, Kenneth Martin of Central City; Jim (Connie) Goldsberry of Solon and Donald (Shelley Bohn) Goldsberry of Bradford, IA; nieces, Pamela Jacob of California and Cindy (John) Salat of Cedar Rapids; niece-in-law, Linda Goldsberry of Amana; also surviving are many great, great-great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, step-father Bill Randall, brothers, John, Kenneth, brother-in-law, Donald Goldsberry, sister-in-law, Bethyl Martin and a nephew, Richard Goldsberry.

Edward Charles Martin was born October 28, 1930 in Perry, Iowa the son of Edward and Angeline (Windsor) Martin. He graduated from the McKinley High School in Cedar Rapids and then worked as an inspector at Collins Radio/Rockwell-Collins until his retirement. Ed enjoyed bowling, fishing, hunting and especially enjoyed being with his family.

A memorial fund has been established in his name.
