Hoa T. Blood, 68, of Cedar Rapids died Thursday April 17, 2014 after a brief illness. Per Hoa’s request there will be a private family memorial services held at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Inurnment in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors two sons Russell Jr. (Stephanie) of Walford and Christofer (Wendy) of Ely; a daughter Michelle (Rex) Jones of Marion her mother Lien Thi Nguyen of Cedar Rapids; three brothers and two sisters. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, Breana, Makena, Miranda, Nicholas, Rylee, Caymen, Sierra and Sabyn. She was preceded in death by her father, husband and two brothers.
Hoa was born on April 2, 1946 in Saigon, Vietnam the daughter of Kien and Lien Thi Nguyen Ong. She married Clare “Russell” Blood on March 17, 1968 in Saigon, Vietnam. Russell passed away in 1993.
Hoa worked in the grocery business for several years, retiring in 1993. She enjoyed cooking, cake decorating, flower arranging, painting in watercolors and gardening. Her real joy was her beloved family and the time spent with them. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.
