David L. Kuda, age 76, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, April 12, 2014 at St. Luke’s Hospital.

Funeral services will be held 11 AM Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories officiated by Pastor John Louk.  Visitation: 4-7 PM Tuesday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.  Interment with military honors will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.

Memorial donations in David’s name may be directed to Salem United Methodist Church, Camp Courageous, or the charity of the donor’s choice.  

David L. Kuda was born September 28, 1937 in Cedar Rapids to William G. and Mary L. (Lechky) Kuda.  He served honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War as a Sergeant.  He was employed as an engineer for Rockwell Collins from 1955 until 1993.

David was a member of the Salem United Methodist Church.  He was also a member of the Cedar Rapids Hanford American Legion Post #5, the Eagles Club, and the Cedar Rapids Power Squadron; he was an auxiliary member of the VFW.

He enjoyed shopping and crafts, especially woodworking.  David was very active in his church.

David is survived by sisters-in-law Phyllis Kuda of Cedar Rapids and Mildred (Donald) Miller of Swisher; four nephews: Terry (Janet) Kuda, Rick Kuda, Dan (Julie) Kuda, and Jeff (Sandy) Kuda; three nieces: Lynn (Steve) Mallicoat, Nancy Brown, and Debbie (Stuart) Towe; nephew-in-law Jim Bys and niece-in-law Monica Kuda; many great-nieces and nephews; and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers William and Richard Kuda; nephew Kim Kuda; and niece Diane Bys.
